Report: Chelsea now just £2m away from signing ‘highly-rated’ 19-year-old, they’ve had two bids rejected already

Chelsea have reportedly been informed by Inter Milan of the price they need to pay to sign Cesare Casadei this summer.

According to the Evening Standard, the Nerazzurri would be willing to accept a fee of around £12m for the midfielder.

The club are currently in the midst of an exciting phase of the transfer window, where they are looking towards the future with their purchases.

The club have already secured deals for Carney Chukwuemeka and Gabriel Slonina from Aston Villa and Chicago Fire respectively.

The MLS goalkeeper will return to his former club on loan for the remainder of their season, however Thomas Tuchel has shown faith in the England U19 international that he has the qualities to add to his side as early as this season.

Now, they are turning their attention to Casadei, who has been described as a ‘highly-rated’ box-to-box midfielder.

Chelsea £2m short of Casadei

The Evening Standard have claimed they are just £2m short of the pricetag set by the Serie A side, with them already having two bids rejected.

The midfielder has never started for Inter, however has shown his talents in the club’s youth sides, notching up 17 goals in all competitions last campaign.

If you include the potential signing of 21-year-old Wesley Fofana from Leicester City, the future is beginning to look bright at Stamford Bridge under the new owners.

Todd Boehly has been obviously keen on signing big names this summer, none more so than the potential coup of five-time Balon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, even if it is slightly against what the manager wants.

However, his intention to build to the future will be delighting Chelsea fans, who will have been unsure what to expect this summer.

With him building towards the future whilst also attempting to bridge the cap in the current day to the top two, there is reason for optimism at Stamford Bridge.
