Chelsea are reportedly keen on forward Alexander Isak from Spanish club Real Sociedad.
According to The Mirror, the Blues are one of the clubs that are circling for the 22-year-old’s signature ahead of the summer.
It is explained that Chelsea and Manchester United are both interested in the Sweden international, who was strongly linked with Arsenal during last month’s transfer window. A £75million release clause in his current contract has been mentioned.
The report states Thomas Tuchel’s side could be in the market to sign another striker if Romelu Lukaku’s form doesn’t pick up. He’s scored eight goals in 25 games across all competitions this season since his £97.5million signing in the summer.
Isak, who’s yet to play in English football, has seen his career really take off with Sociedad during the last few years.
His name has become well known since impressing at Euro 2020 for his country, too. Gary Lineker described him as an “exceptional talent” during last year’s delayed international tournament.
He’s a 6ft 4in physical striker that looks tailor-made for the Premier League game on paper, but he’s very much a youngster still developing.

Chelsea may need another CF
In fairness, some of the great Premier League teams have had several top-class strikers in the same squad.
Lukaku’s time this season will hopefully come because he’s a proven goalscorer.
There are the likes of Kai Havertz or Timo Werner who can play centrally, but really Thomas Tuchel’s squad is lacking another out-and-out frontman.
Isak ticks a lot of boxes from the outside. Chelsea do have loanee Armando Broja scheduled to return next season, though.
