Chelsea are reportedly interested in Nicolo Barella from Italian giants Inter Milan.
According to Italian outlet CMW, Chelsea have set their sights on a possible double raid of the Serie A and Champions League club.
It is understood that the Blues are keen on central midfielder Barella, who could cost at least €60million (£53million) to prize away from the San Siro. Any kind of transfer may depend on a possible contract extension, though.
The report adds that Graham Potter’s side also like his Inter teammate Milan Skriniar, who’s a 27-year-old centre-back. Incidentally, Chelsea reportedly tried to bring him to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Chelsea interested in Barella
Barella, who’s been an important player in Inter colours in recent years, would be quite the eye-catching signing for Chelsea.
The “extraordinary” Italy international is a box-to-box midfielder that’s great in the No.8 position, offering high energy and quality in both halves of the pitch.
He’s kickstarted the new season with two goals and two assists in eight Inter appearances, starting every single Serie A game.
Chelsea’s midfield engine room is one where fans suspect there will need to be a reshuffle in the near future, with N’Golo Kante and Jorginho both 30+. It doesn’t help that Kante and Mateo Kovacic regularly pick up injuries, too.

It would be great to see Barella adapting his style to the Premier League because he could be a great fit on paper.
CMW’s report mentions Liverpool as another potential suitor for the Inter star, so Chelsea may not be alone in their interest.
Chelsea’s interest doesn’t sound too far advanced at this stage. For now, Potter needs time to assess Chelsea’s options in the centre of the park to see how they all fit into his plans.
