Chelsea are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, but Liverpool already have a plan to get him.

Milinkovic-Savic, 27, has been a key player for his Serie A club for so many years now.

He’s a genuine goalscoring midfielder that many supporters have tipped for a big move in recent seasons.

The Serbian star has kicked off this campaign in excellent form, scoring four goals and making five assists in only 11 appearances.

Chelsea interested in Milinkovic-Savic

According to CMW, Lazio don’t want to consider letting Milinkovic-Savic leave unless their high €70 million (£61million) valuation is met.

With less than two years remaining on his contract, it’s going to be interesting to see what the Italian club decide to do.

It is understood that there’s interest in his signature from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus and Inter Milan.

The report adds it’s Liverpool who may win the transfer race, with plans in place to offer their defender Joe Gomez in a player-plus-cash transfer.

Maurizio Sarri praise

Lazio manager Sarri, who previously had a spell as Chelsea boss, is clearly a massive fan of Milinkovic-Savic.

He picks him as a mainstay in his starting line-up. Also, he’s actually described him as one of the best players he’s ever coached.

“I have coached many great players, but he (Milinkovic-Savic) is one of the best I’ve ever worked with,” Sarri said earlier this year, as quoted by Football Italia.

Sarri has worked with some big individuals during his managerial career, so it’s quite a significant claim about Milinkovic-Savic.

He’s previously coached the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Eden Hazard and Paulo Dybala.
