Chelsea are two of the summer destination options for soon-to-be free agent Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele after collapsed negotiations between his representatives and Paris Saint-Germain, according to Sport.

Dembele, whose contract at Barcelona expires at the end of this month, could reportedly announce the decision over his future next week.

Sport claims that Barcelona remain pessimistic about a possible extension as the 25-year-old has yet to agree to the contract they offered.

Dembele’s representatives, on the other hand, have reportedly been in negotiations with other clubs.

The report suggests that Dembele is keen on joining Paris Saint-Germain but the structural change at the France club has had an impact on the club’s summer plans.

PSG’s exit-bound sporting director Leonardo liked the idea of signing Dembele on a free transfer but his expected successor Luis Campos reportedly prefers to strengthen the team’s midfield instead.

Despite weeks of negotiations, PSG might have closed the door on Dembele, the report added.

Dembele is reportedly now left with two options; joining Chelsea or staying at Barcelona.

An earlier report from talkSPORT also claimed that Chelsea are the favourites to sign the former Borussia Dortmund star.

Sport mentioned that the Blues have offered the France international a four-year deal plus a signing-on bonus, but it is still below what Dembele and his representatives are asking.

Meanwhile, Barcelona reportedly refuse to improve their initial offer and expect the player to make a sacrifice to stay at the club.
