Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has verbally agreed to join Barcelona on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 25-year-old, whose contract with the Blues expires at the end of the season, arrived at the club as a teenager in 2012.
He is now reportedly close to ending his Chelsea career after a decade.
The west London club, Romano claims, offered the centre-back a new deal at the start of the season but is not willing to raise their proposals.

“Chelsea wanted him to accept the proposal [they offered] in the final week of August, [but] he decided to take some time,” the Italian transfer expert said on his YouTube channel about Christensen’s contract situation
“This is why Chelsea never wanted to improve their proposal. They just wanted him to accept the proposal that was ready.
“Then he started to consider opportunities.”
Romano added that being “100% respectful” to Chelsea is a key point for the Denmark international who has already turned down two offers from two Premier League clubs.

“This is why he decided to accept [an offer from] Barcelona on a verbal basis,” Romano added.
“So at the moment, everything is set to be agreed between Christensen and Barcelona.
“A five-year contract is on the table, so it’s just a matter of details and the paperwork to be signed.”
Aside from Christensen, two fellow Chelsea defenders; Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta, are also in the final months of their contracts.
Thomas Tuchel recently admitted that Roman Abramovich’s decision to sell the club will have an effect on contract negotiations due to the uncertainty that comes with it.
