Chelsea are reportedly ready to break the club’s transfer record for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.
The 19-year-old has been heavily linked with a summer move to Stamford Bridge.
And a report from the Evening Standard claimed Chelsea are prepared to meet Dortmund’s valuation of Sancho which is around £120million.
However, the report also mentioned that Chelsea will face fierce competition from Manchester United, among other clubs, in pursuit of the winger.
It is hardly surprising that a teenager who managed to bag 14 goals and 15 assists from 23 appearances in the Bundesliga will attract other top European clubs.
Dortmund are unsurprisingly keen on keeping their hottest prospect, although it would be difficult to do so if their valuation is met this summer.
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke previously said the club will be willing to discuss a move if Sancho asks for it himself.
Having practically missed two windows after the transfer ban in the summer, and the failure to secure any signings in January, it is said Chelsea will invest heavily later this year.
The report also mentioned Lyon’s Moussa Dembele and RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner among Chelsea’s transfer targets for the striker position.
Chelsea are also still in the market for a left-back and Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell was claimed to be top of the list for this position.
