Chelsea defender Baba Rahman is reportedly set to leave Stamford Bridge, amid interest from two clubs in the Championship.

The EFL transfer window does not shut until 16 October, meaning that there is still the chance for some of the Blues squad to exit Stamford Bridge to pursue first-team minutes elsewhere.

According to Goal, English Championship duo Watford and Middlesbrough have both made offers to try take Rahman on a season-long loan.

The report explains that the 26-year-old is now set for his first loan in English football, after previous spells out on loan at Mallorca, Reims and Schalke.

It is also added that the left-footed defender is fully fit now after recording from cruciate ligament injury.

Rahman moved to Chelsea back in 2015 as a highly-rated youngster that was expected to compete for a full-back position, but he’s had some terrible luck with injuries and made just 23 senior appearances for the club.

The rapid left-back has tried some loan spells away from West London in recent years, with his time at Schalke a positive one.

He missed pretty much the whole of the 2019/20 season with his knee problems, but a move to a Championship club looks like it could be a good step for him and a top signing for either Watford or Boro if he can stay fit.

The Ghana international is one of several players that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard needs to try offload from a large squad.
