Reports from Italy have claimed that Chelsea are in the race with Borussia Dortmund to sign Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.
According to Gazzetta, the Blues will also have London rivals Tottenham in competition to sign the American international.
McKennie has most recently been seen putting in brilliant performances at the World Cup as part of the USA side.

He and Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic were among their nation’s top performers in Qatar, as they advanced from a group that contained England and Wales.
Their run was cut short by a Denzel Dumfries-inspired Netherlands side in the Round of 16.
However, his impressive individual performances will have certainly put some big sides on notice, including the Blues.
Chelsea pushing for McKennie
Midfield is an area that is potentially facing some concern going forwards. Both N’golo Kante and Jorginho are currently not expected to sign a new deal that will extend their stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of this season.
If one or both leave, then quality reinforcements are required in order to give Graham Potter the best chance at succeeding at the club.
Gazzetta have claimed that McKennie is one of the midfielders they are chasing in order to try and meet this criteria.

He has gained a lot of praise this season for performances. Former USA star Clint Dempsey described him as ‘dangerous’ in a Champions League game earlier this season.
There are a number of midfield options the club are currently interested in. England duo Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham are frequently linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
Recent reports have suggested that the Blues have prioritised the signing of the West Ham man over Bellingham, and given his vast experience in English football he may represent a better option going forwards than McKennie does.
