Chelsea are reportedly interested in AC Milan’s Ismael Bennacer.
According to CMW, Blues coach Graham Potter has his sights set on reinforcing the midfield options at Stamford Bridge.
It is understood that Chelsea are now eyeing AC Milan’s talented defensive midfielder.
The report claims the Italian giants would not sell Bennacer for at least €40million (£36million), though. Milan could even demand as much as €50million (£45million).
In addition, the Serie A giants are currently trying to sort out a new contract for him, with his current deal expiring in 2024.

Chelsea interested in Ismael Bennacer
Bennacer, who’s got 39 senior caps for Algeria, is an important player at the San Siro.
The defensive midfield usually plays in a No.6 position as one of two sitting midfielders, breaking up play and helping to dictate possession.
He was formerly on the books of Arsenal in the preliminary stages of his career, developing as a player in their academy. He even made one first-team appearances for the Gunners, too.
His career path has seen him make a name for himself in Italy with Empoli, before becoming an important player for Milan since joining them in 2019.

This report seems to suggest Potter will want more midfield options in the future.
It’s going to be interesting to see in the next couple of months which current Chelsea midfielders really force their way into Potter’s best line-up.
There’s plenty of competition with the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho, Conor Gallagher, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Denis Zakaria and N’Golo Kante.
