Chelsea could send their young talent Carney Chukwuemeka out on loan next season, according to reports.

The Blues splashed out £20million (BBC) last summer to sign Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa, and he’s stayed in the first-team squad at Stamford Bridge this year.

Unfortunately, the 19-year-old midfielder has only made 12 senior appearances across all competitions this campaign.

Now, Football London claims that Chukwuemeka could be on the move this summer.

Football London says that Chelsea would consider sending Chukwuemeka out on loan next season to help his development.

It is understood that senior officials at Stamford Bridge do rate the English youngster highly.

The report adds that he’s likely to have plenty of Premier League suitors if he’s available on loan.

Chukwuemeka should be delighted that there are Chelsea staff that admire his talent, but at the same time, we think there will be frustration there over his lack of opportunities this season.

Chukwuemeka hasn’t looked out of place whenever he’s featured this season. In fact, he’s shown during his glimpses on the pitch that he can add a spark to this lacklustre Blues side.

Therefore, we’re disappointed not to have seen more of the box-to-box midfielder.

Former Blues coach Graham Potter said earlier in the season that Chukwuemeka has “huge potential”.

If he’s not going to get any decent game time next season at Stamford Bridge, perhaps a loan deal could be the best possible move for him.

He definitely looks physically and technically good enough to play regularly at Premier League level, so let’s see where he ends up next season.
