Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly keen on sending goalkeeper Dean Henderson on another loan spell with Chelsea reportedly interested.
The 23-year-old has said his goodbye to Sheffield United where he spent the past two seasons on loan.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Sheffield United for the last two years,” he wrote on his Twitter account.
“I can’t wait for the next chapter! Once again, thank you for everything!”
But now, Henderson is facing the possibility of another loan spell despite his impressive performances with the Blades, according to a report from the Mirror.
The report said Henderson is determined to fight for the No.1 spot at Manchester United, but Solskjaer and his goalkeeping staff believe it is too soon for the young shot-stopper to be the first-choice ahead of David de Gea.
And it remains to be seen whether Henderson accepts such a scenario as he is keen to take his career to the next level, the report added.
The Mirror further claimed that Chelsea are interested in signing the Manchester United goalkeeper, but they would have to offload Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer which could prove difficult to shift.
Considering the competition between Manchester United and Chelsea, it is also very unlikely that the former would want to send a highly-rated goalkeeper on loan to rivals and help them improve significantly.
To put it into perspective, Henderson recorded 13 clean-sheets in the Premier League this season, joint third-best in the league, along with a few other goalkeepers including De Gea.
On the other hand, Kepa had just eight clean-sheets(13th in the league).
