Chelsea are once again being linked with Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic, who is demanding £5million a year to stay at the San Siro.
FCInterNews, as relayed by The Chelsea Chronicle, reported in October that the Blues are big fans of the 28-year-old.
The Sun has today named Chelsea as a possible suitor for the Croatia international. Therefore, it appears like Thomas Tuchel’s side may still be keen on trying to bring him to Stamford Bridge in the future.
It is understood that Brozovic’s contract with Serie A champions Inter is out of contract in the summer, with Newcastle United now looking at him as a potential target.
The report does explain, though, that the central midfielder would ideally like to stay in Italy. He is asking for £5million a year on a new contract from current club Inter, which works out at around £96,000-a-week.
Italy’s national team manager and ex-Inter mIlan boss Roberto Mancini called Brozovic “incredible” back in 2016.

Do Chelsea need more midfield reinforcements?
For Chelsea, they are already stacked in the centre of the park.
Inter’s deep-lying playmaker Brozovic would theoretically be challenging for a defensive midfield position at Stamford Bridge if he joined.
In fairness, Jorginho is one of the best around at what he does at the base of the Blues midfield. Surely the London club aren’t in a hurry to replace him.
Meanwhile, academy graduate Ruben Loftus-Cheek has shown he’s more than able to look the part in that role, too.
Brozovic doesn’t look like someone the club need to prioritise.

Croatian connection
Brozovic, along with the likes of Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic and Real Madrid’s Luka Modric, have been part of a golden generation of players in Croatia. You can add the likes of Ivan Perisic, Ivan Rakitic and Mario Mandzukic to that list.
Chelsea target Brozovic is extremely technically gifted like Blues star Kovacic, and there are plenty of similarities between the duo.
