Premier League club Crystal Palace are reportedly considering a move for Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi.
According to the Daily Mail, Palace are looking at a potential swoop in the January transfer window for the Blues striker.
It is understood that the 26-year-old is a “leading target” to bring to Selhurst Park in the New Year and Roy Hodgson’s side want to try negotiate a move in January.
The Belgium international spent the second half of last season on loan with Palace, where he managed six goals in 13 games across all competitions and was a popular figure.
He’s been back at Stamford Bridge this campaign under Frank Lampard and has three goals in his opening six appearances across all completions.
With Palace lining up Batshuayi, Chelsea could be left with a decision to make over his future.
The centre-forward still has plenty to offer the club and the smart decision would be to ignore any potential approaches for him.
Batshuayi came off the bench to score in the 4-1 win against Southampton at the weekend and he’s a natural finisher that is a great option to have in Lampard’s squad.
Tammy Abraham is currently the first-choice striker on fire in the Chelsea XI, but it’s great competition in the squad to have Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud just behind him.
The issue may be keeping Batshuayi happy with his amount of game time, but if he’s content then it seems a no-brainer to keep him around and he can have an important role to play moving forward.
