Chelsea have reportedly told Inter Milan that they are willing to sign Andre Onana from them in the summer transfer window.

Andre Onana, who’s a highly-rated goalkeeper, is having an impressive season at the San Siro.

He’s kept 15 clean sheets in 33 games across all competitions this campaign, including six during the club’s run to the Champions League semi-finals. Incidentally, there’s a cracking Milan derby to play in the semis.

Despite Inter’s European success this year, speculation does suggest they could lose some of their best players in the summer.

According to 90min, Inter are in a situation where they need to raise cash by players sales at the end of the season.

It is explained that Chelsea and Tottenham have both indicated to the Serie A giants that they’re willing to take Onana from them for a cut-price fee.

The report adds that the Blues have been watching the 27-year-old keeper closely in recent months. In fact, they believe the Cameroon international can be the perfect No.1 for them and slot straight into the starting line-up at Stamford Bridge.

90min says Chelsea will make their current goalkeepers Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy available for transfer, so they’re on the search to find a new first-choice shot-stopper.

Italian publication Gazzetta claimed last month that Onana is valued at around €40million (£35million) by Inter heading into the summer.

If Chelsea can sign Onana for £35million, it could represent a really smart piece of business.

A lot of Chelsea’s activity in the transfer market during the last few windows has been very questionable, especially when coughing up huge sums for players.

However, there are still some decent deals out there if they look in the right place.

Kepa’s definitely rediscovered his form this season to prove he’s a good goalkeeper, but many fans question whether he’s at the level to help win silverware.
