Ethan Ampadu is reportedly on the verge of another loan spell away from Chelsea with Newcastle United showing serious intrigue.
According to the Northern Echo, Newcastle have approached the Blues about possibly taking Ampadu off their hands this year.
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan with Sheffield United, where he was unable to keep Chris Wilder’s side away from relegation.

He made 29 appearances in total for the Blades but failed to feature in any of their final six Premier League fixtures.
After his European Championship expeditions with Wales, which ended in red card fury, Ampadu returned to Cobham for pre-season training.
Thomas Tuchel wanted to assess all 42 of his listed players before making a decision on their futures.
For the young Welshman, it appears his destiny lies further north.
Tuchel has now apparently told him that he will not stand in his way if he wants to pursue a loan move.
Steve Bruce is eager to bolster Newcastle’s ranks, but doing so with minimal cost.

The Magpies manager also apparently looked at Chelsea’s Malang Sarr alongside Ampadu as a possible defensive option.
It seems he has preferenced the latter.
Although Ampadu hasn’t featured for the Blues since January 2019, his talents are highly rated around Cobham.
Mainly due to his positional flexibility, which enables him to play in either midfield or defence.
“He’s been used in a number of positions because he’s got a good brain and he knows the roles,” said stand-in Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom.

A brief spell at RB Leipzig helped the former Wrexham youngster earn experience abroad.
Whilst the stint with Sheffield United handed him regular first-team minutes.
Chelsea supporters also noticed Ampadu’s leadership qualities at the Euros, an invaluable asset to any aspiring star.
