Report: Chelsea to allow Michy Batshuayi exit in summer, Crystal Palace ready move
Chelsea are reportedly willing to offload Michy Bathuayi in the summer transfer window, as he prepares to enter the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge.
According to the Daily Express, the Blues are ready to accept offers for the 26-year-old at the end of this season and will grant his exit.
It is understood that Premier League outfit Crystal Palace are ready to make a move for the Belgium international, who they previously had on a loan spell at Selhurst Park.
The report explains that Chelsea quoted a £45million price tag for him back in January when Palace made contact for him, but they will expect that valuation to drop significantly in the summer.
Batshuayi has reportedly told friends he wants to remain in London, which is why a switch to Palace could end up suiting all parties involved.
The centre-forward joined Chelsea for £33million (BBC) back in 2016 from Marseille and will forever be remembered for helping the club get over the line to win the Premier League title in his first season, as he netted a late winner in a 1-0 away win at West Brom to be crowned champions.
He’s scored 25 goals in 77 appearances for the club across all competitions, but has had a spate of loans away from West London and has never really made the striker position his own.
Batshuayi has six goals in 24 games across all competitions this campaign for Frank Lampard’s side, but he appears to be third-choice in the pecking order right now for the striker position and it would hardly be a surprise to see him exit.
