Chelsea are reportedly set to hold talks with Real Madrid over potentially signing their defender Eder Militao as soon as next month.
Gianluca Di Marzio’s website claims Chelsea held discussions in December with Militao’s representatives about a potential switch to Stamford Bridge, albeit nothing concrete came from the meeting.
Thomas Tuchel’s side will reportedly sit down for more talks about the 24-years-old in March, though.
It is understood the centre-back would be reluctant to agree a Chelsea move right now because he’s focused on signing a new contract with current club Madrid at the Bernabeu. Apparently, there will be more talks between the Spanish giants and their vital player.
Militao, who’s an ever-present for the La Liga leaders, has already made 35 appearances across all competitions this season.
The Brazilian is a young centre-half with real pace, strength and tactical awareness. He’s got so much more improving to do as he gains even more experience at the top level, too.

Chelsea CB position a mystery
Blues supporters have absolutely no idea how they’ll be lining up in defence by the time next season rolls around.
As it stands, Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Chirstensen will all be leaving in the summer when their respective contracts expire.
There is frequent speculation about each of them staying or going, but the fanbase has a nail-biting wait to hear some kind of outcome.
Tuchel’s Chelsea definitely need top-class replacements in defence if any of the aforementioned names leave.
For certain, Militao fits into the bracket of someone with the potential to make an immediate impact at the Bridge.
Elsewhere, Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Max Kilman is a left-field option that’s been linked with the Blues this month.
