Chelsea are reportedly very frustrated that their attempts to sign Erling Haaland have been wrecked by government sanctions.
Unfortunately, the Blues have had to put the handbrakes on over transfer business while the takeover process is finalised.
According to ESPN, Chelsea are angry that they’ve not been able to have conversations with Haaland.
It is understood the London club wanted to make contact to see if the 21-year-old wants a move to Stamford Bridge ahead of next season, but that’s been impossible under current restrictions.
The report states that it’s expected Premier League rivals Manchester City will be the ones to win the race for the Norwegian superstar.
Haaland, who’s reportedly got a £63million release clause, has elevated himself to elite status across Europe with what he’s done at German side Dortmund in the past couple of years.
The left-footed centre-forward has a phenomenal record of 85 goals in just 87 appearances for Dortmund.

Would be perfect at Chelsea
Haaland will surely be the signing of the summer for any club that gets him at a £63million price.
The young frontman is someone most expect to be a future Ballon d’Or winner and is already an absolute goal machine.
For Chelsea, their latest number nine has been unable to fill the void at Stamford Bridge. Romelu Lukaku, who’s reportedly even isolated in warm-ups before games, hasn’t been the prolific goalscorer that Thomas Tuchel’s squad needs.
If Haaland joins Man City, it could be an even tougher job for Chelsea to close the gap to them.
His pace, strength and clinical touch looks like it’s tailor-made for the Premier League.
The Blues are pinning a lot of their hopes of German attacker Kai Havertz right now, who Tuchel has compared to Premier League great Dennis Bergkamp. He’s not an out-and-out striker quite like Haaland, though.
