Chelsea youngster Xavier Simons has reportedly agreed a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
According to Football.London, the 19-year-old academy talent has agreed to sign a fresh deal with the Blues.
It is understood his current contract has been due to expire at the end of this month, but there’s been a breakthrough in attempts to keep him.
The report explains Chelsea have managed to hold on to their rising star despite interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

Xavier Simons new contract
Chelsea fans will be delighted to hear one of their upcoming youngsters won’t be leaving this summer.
Simons, who’s already an England under-19 international, has a growing reputation.
The teenager has been a regular in the Blues under-23s side this season, who narrowly avoided relegation at the end of the year. He’s also made a first-team debut, too.
Simons made his one senior appearance to date last December when he started in Chelsea’s win over Brentford in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
He’s a defensive midfielder by trade that’s great with the ball at his feet. However, he’s shown the versatility and athleticism to be effective in a right wing-back role as well.
It’s impossible for Chelsea to keep hold of every single young star they have in their academy sides, but it’s irritating when you see ex-players thriving elsewhere at the highest level.
Let’s hope the new contract for Simons is announced so he can try push closer to more first-team minutes.
Incidentally, Harvey Vale is another gem from the Chelsea youth that supporters should keep an eye on.
