Chelsea reportedly may need to move on at least one of Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante or Jorginho in order to wrap up Aurelien Tchouameni’s transfer.
According to the Evening Standard, Tchouameni’s possible switch to Stamford Bridge might heavily depend on what happens to the mentioned midfield trio this summer.
What will Chelsea’s transfer window look like?
Talk of summer signings has hit a new level of intrigue recently, following the latest news regarding Roman Abramovich.
Abramovich is apparently in talks with several cash-loaded names over the potential sale of Chelsea.

The club’s owner has come under great scrutiny to sell the South West London team, due to his links with the Russian government, who are currently embroiled in a war against Ukraine.
Losing Abramovich would mean losing his wealth and therefore support in acquiring new players.
This may also require a change in transfer strategy, which the Evening Standard claim will be heavily reliant on selling rather than buying.
Hence why an attack on Tchouameni’s signature could down to the futures of Kovacic, Kante and Jorginho.
Each experienced midfielder holds an extremely important position within Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
Their differing skills combine to make almost the perfect central midfield blend of precession, energy, composure and intelligence.

“They make things easy for the others, they don’t hide from a lot of work, putting in a lot of effort for others,” said Tuchel last July about his three internationals earning recognition from across the board.
“This is a fantastic message to football in general, that these guys come to the spotlight.”
If Tchouemni comes in, who goes out?
Despite their prominent status, the serial-winning trident are not getting any younger, meaning a fresh wave of talent is set to take their place at some point.
Step forward Tchouameni, who currently leads the charge for European superstars.
The Monaco starlet is wanted across the continent, with a £50m (Sport) price tag reportedly hanging over his head.
At 22-years-old, he is nearly a decade younger than fellow Frenchman Kante.
Could he be the heir to N’Golo’s throne? Chelsea’s kingdom probably isn’t big enough for them both.
