Chelsea are reportedly prepared to pay a fee for Youssoufa Moukoko in January, even though who could be available for free in summer.
According to SPORT, Todd Boehly will offer Borussia Dortmund £8m to sign the young forward in the winter market, as a scheme to ward off any other interested suitors.
Barcelona are said to be Boehly’s main rival to land Moukoko, yet the Stamford Bridge owner seemingly has a financial chess move up his sleeve.

Due to Barca’s economical situation, they do not have the luxury of spending vast amount of money on players anymore.
Instead, the hierarchy have collared those with expiring contracts or landed free agents.
They did so with former Chelsea defenders Andreas Christensen and Marcos Alonso, along with Franck Kessie from AC Milan.
Moukoko on the go go
Moukoko is another who would fit the mould of the Spanish side’s transfer targets.
The 18-year-old’s deal with Dortmund expires in June, leaving him bare to becoming a free agent unless a renewal can be confirmed.
If someone can snap the German international up for no upfront cost, it would be seen as a real coop.

He has emerged as one of Europe’s hottest talents in the past few seasons, with his goal scoring numbers described by Owen Hargreaves as ‘off the charts’.
However, Chelsea apparently have a ploy to halt Barca bagging the teenager for a relatively low price.
Presenting Dortmund with some cash in January may persuade the Bundesliga club to move on Moukoko before his contract has even run out.
