Atletico Madrid are prepared to send Joao Felix out on loan to Chelsea again next season, according to reports.

Joao Felix, who’s spending the second half of this season on loan at Stamford Bridge, faces an uncertain future ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Evening Standard claims that Atletico will demand €100million (£88million) to sell Felix on a permanent basis.

It is explained that they’re open to granting him another loan move, but it would cost interested clubs £16million to take him next year.

The report says Chelsea have sounded out different ways that they can keep the 23-year-old forward on their books for next season.

AS reports today that Atletico are disappointed with how Felix’s loan spell has gone at Chelsea in the past few months.

He netted in a 3-1 Premier League win against Bournemouth over the weekend, but he’s scored just three times and made zero assists in 17 Blues appearances.

In fairness, the Portuguese attacker hasn’t started every match and has lost his starting position recently.

He can be such an eye-catching individual to watch when he’s in the mood, with his dribbling something that Chelsea fans haven’t seen much of since Eden Hazard left the club a few years ago.

However, Felix’s lack of end product in front of goal fits with the common theme of Chelsea players right now.

Let’s wait and see what Chelsea’s next permanent manager thinks of Felix. Incidentally, the Evening Standard reports that Mauricio Pochettino would be crucial in deciding if the Blues re-sign Felix.

It feels like a really bad deal for anyone to spend £80million-plus on Atletico’s attacker, but there is definitely a special talent in there.

We are not completely against bringing him back on loan for an entire year if he’s a big part of the plans. You’d want a significant return from him on a £16million loan deal, though.
