Report: Club close to signing Chelsea 19-year-old, loan will include option to buy
Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow are reportedly close to signing Chelsea teenager Tino Anjorin.
According to BBC Sport on their deadline day transfer blog (9:17am, 31 August), Lokomotiv Moscow are closing in on a deal for the 19-year-old Englishman.
It is understood that the attacking midfielder is going to join on a loan deal that will include a £17million option to buy. Also, there will be a buy-back clause for Chelsea.
This comes after The Sun claimed yesterday that Anjorin is set to complete a move to Moscow with a medical underway ahead of a permanent move that has a £25million buy-back clause.
It looks like the Blues academy graduate will leave on today’s deadline day in some capacity and crucially there will be an option to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.
If BBC is to be believed, Anjorin will be trying to impress this season during a loan in the Russian top flight.
He’s an attacking midfielder that Blues manager Thomas Tuchel called “creative” during pre-season.
Anjorin has drawn comparisons to Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the past given his physical presence at such a young age and his ability to drive forward on the ball. Therefore, will be great to see how he copes with the transition into regular first-team football.
He’s had a very brief taste of it with five senior appearances for Chelsea, but a move abroad is a really big step.
Don’t be surprised if he becomes another massive talent churned out from the academy at Cobham.
