Report: Club could lower price tag of 25-year-old so Chelsea can sign him in the summer

Reports from Italy have claimed that Roma would be willing to drop the price tag of Tammy Abraham if Chelsea wanted to sign him.

According to SiamoLaRoma, the Serie A side would be happy for the buyback clause in his contract to be reduced, as long as they still make a profit on the deal.

The striker position at Stamford Bridge is one that has brought huge talk in the media.

Goals have been a real luxury in recent weeks, with them being the lowest scorers in the entire league over a spell of the last few months.

The Blues spent big in the January transfer window, as they pushed desperately to rescue somewhat of a decent finish to a dire campaign.

The likes of Joao Felix, Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk have all been brought in, with there now a whole host of talented youngsters in West London.

However, they still didn’t bring in a recognised striker who can convert for the magnitude of creative players that are present.

This has seen reports that they will look to bring in a striker at the end of this season, with Todd Boehly not afraid to spend even more to bring success to Chelsea.

The latest name to be mentioned is Abraham. He of course featured plenty for the Blues before he was sold in 2021.

SiamoLaRoma have claimed that the Serie A side would even be tempted to lower the amount of money required to sell him if Chelsea show genuine interest.

The Englishman’s form this season would suggest that he probably isn’t the ideal option to solve all of Chelsea’s issues, and the signing of Christopher Nkunku next summer could make things difficult when looking at more additions in the summer.
