Report: Club could sell their striker for over £100m and then try and sign 20-year-old Chelsea prospect

Chelsea prospect Armando Broja is potentially a target for Italian club Napoli this summer.

20-year-old striker Broja, who’s enjoying a decent season on loan at Southampton, is building quite the reputation for himself.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Serie A side Napoli could even make the Chelsea loanee a transfer target.

The report explains they could set their sights on Broja should their current striker Victor Osimhen leave.

Osimhen, who’s scored 16 goals in 28 Napoli appearances this season, is being linked with a move away from Naples in the upcoming summer window.

It’s previously been reported by Corriere dello Sport that he’s valued at €120million (£101million) amid interest from Premier League duo Arsenal and Manchester United.

Let’s hope Chelsea keep Broja

The goals may have dried up recently for Broja in a Southampton shirt, but Chelsea need to take a serious look at this young prospect when pre-season rolls around.

The Albania international still has nine goals for the Saints this season, making him the second highest scorer at St Mary’s.

He’s an all-action forward with great pace, power and aggression.

Paul Canoville would love to see him promoted to the first-team squad at Stamford Bridge next season. In addition, Martin Keown recently raved about how “impressive” the Chelsea-owned talent is.

It remains to be seen what will happen with Blues frontman Romelu Lukaku next season, but the general consensus from within the fanbase is that he should move on.

It’s important to stress Broja is still so young and learning his craft. It would be great to seen him thrown into the mix by manager Thomas Tuchel to see what he’s made of, though.
