Barcelona player Frenkie de Jong reportedly prefers a move to Chelsea over Premier League rivals Manchester United this summer.
According to Sport, Spanish giants Barcelona would like to sell the 25-year-old midfielder.
The Holland international is said to prefer staying at the Camp Nou with Barcelona, but has considered the consequences of leaving.
The report explains De Jong’s not keen on Man United’s interest in signing him. In contrast, he does appreciate the sporting project taking place at Stamford Bridge and wouldn’t completely rule out a move to Chelsea. He does like the idea of signing for a European giant like Bayern Munich, too.

Frenkie de Jong prefers Chelsea over Manchester United
Chelsea, along with Man United, have both been linked with De Jong this month as potential suitors.
However, latest claims suggest the player would much rather prefer West London to Manchester.
The deep-lying midfielder cost Barcelona £65million to sign from Ajax back in 2019, but he’s not quite made the impact most expected in Spain.

Do Blues need him?
Yes, De Jong’s a technically gifted midfielder that should still have his best years ahead of him.
However, it doesn’t feel like he should be a priority target for Chelsea.
There’s already the likes of Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, Conor Gallagher and Jorginho competing for central midfield positions in the Blues squad.
Thomas Tuchel’s group desperately needs extra defensive reinforcements first, so the fact they’re reportedly agreed a deal to sign Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde is brilliant news.
