Napoli are reportedly deciding against targeting Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri this summer.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Italian club Napoli are turning to a cheaper alternative than the Blues left-back.
It is understood they are now pursuing Getafe’s Mathias Olivera to try fill a full-back position.
This comes after Calcio Mercato previously reported last month that Napoli had made an offer of less than €15million (£12.8million) for Emerson.
Chelsea player Emerson has since won Euro 2020 with Italy, starting in both the semi-final and final for his country.
The £75,000-a-week left-footer is now in the final year of his contract, plus he was behind Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso in the left-back pecking order last season at Stamford Bridge.
If you consider Emerson has just impressed at the Euros, it seems like the perfect time to cash in on him.
However, some may want him to stay to compete for the starting position.
He’s clearly got ability, but his future looks precarious with his deal due to expire next summer.
Blues manager Thomas Tuchel has a big decision to make on him.
He’s never been able to establish himself as a kay player for Chelsea since he joined for £17.6million back in January 2018.
