AC Milan are reportedly growing more confident that Rafael Leao will sign a new contract at the San Siro, despite transfer links with Chelsea.
Leao, 23, is an exciting attacker that’s one of the key players for AC Milan. He’s been in excellent club form this season, scoring seven goals and making nine assists in just 20 games.
Journalist Simon Phillips shared last month that Chelsea have been in talks with Leao’s agent and they may be prepared to splash the cash for him in the New Year.
However, fresh speculation this week suggests the Serie A champions may be keeping their 23-year-old winger.

Rafael Leao contract
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan now have a renewed confidence that Leao will extend his contract with them.
The report explains there’s been regular discussions between all parties as they try sort a new deal, with his current contract at the Italian giants expiring in 2024.
Chelsea’s name has been frequently mentioned alongside the speedster in the transfer rumour mill, but his future may yet lie in Milan.

Leao, who had a decent World Cup for Portugal with a couple of goals, is an excellent player.
He’s one of the most exciting wide players to watch in Europe this season with his pace, directness and dribbling flair.
However, it sounds like Chelsea are going all out to try strengthen other areas of the pitch, so is a deal for Leao actually financially realistic this month as well. In our view, this may be a deal to revisit further down the line.
