Report: Club hoping to exploit Chelsea star's poor relationship with Tuchel to secure cut-price deal

AC Milan are hoping that Chelsea would be willing to let go of their winger, Hakim Ziyech, on a cut-price, similar to Romelu Lukaku’s potential Inter Milan return this summer, according to Sky Italia.

Ziyech, who is said to be admired by Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Frederich Massara, has reportedly been approached by the Italian club a number of times already in previous transfer windows.

This time, however, Sky Italia claims that the 29-year-old has already expressed his desire to leave Chelsea and the willingness to negotiate with Milan.

The negotiations are not advanced yet, at least for now, and the Italian clubs still have to work on a lot of things, including negotiating figures with both Ziyech and Chelsea, the report added.

In terms of wages, the Moroccan winger reportedly earns close to €6million-a-year (£5.2m) at Chelsea.

Milan will also have to reach an agreement with the Blues, with a potential loan deal mentioned in the report.

The Serie A champions are reportedly hoping that Ziyech’s rather poor relationship with Tuchel, as well as his desire to leave Chelsea, would help reduce the asking price, similar to Lukaku’s expected loan return to Inter Milan.

Like many other Chelsea attackers, the former Ajax stars, struggled with consistent game time last season, making just 14 starts (23 appearances in total) in the Premier League.

He still managed to register four goals and three assists in the competition, but it is far below the figures expected of a player of his calibre.

Chelsea’s reported interest in Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele could also play a part in Ziyech’s potential exit.

Sterling and Dembele are both capable of playing on the right side of the pitch where Ziyech mostly plays at Chelsea.
