Report: Club make contact for 'phenomenal' Chelsea player that Tuchel absolutely loves, Blues will fight to keep him

Real Madrid have reportedly made contact with Chelsea about the transfer of Reece James.

The Spanish giants, who will reportedly agree to sign Blues defender Antonio Rudiger in the next few days, are already planning another raid on Stamford Bridge.

According to Goal, Madrid have made an early approach for Chelsea wing-back James.

It is understood the La Liga leaders have made an approach about a possible future transfer, with the plan to sign him in 2023.

The report says the London club won’t let their 22-year-old talent go without a fight. Also, the Blues hierarchy want to build the team around him moving forward.

James is a key player in the Chelsea squad that would be an absolutely mammoth loss.

Manager Thomas Tuchel recently spoke about how much he loves the England international as a player, which is why he’s a regular in the starting XI when available.

There’s been some immense talent come through the academy at Cobham in the last five years, but he might just be the cream of the crop.

Don’t you dare Chelsea

Chelsea would be absolute fools to lose James.

The Blues fan is living his dream in the first team and will hopefully be a vital player for the next decade at the Bridge.

Goal’s report mentions James isn’t one of the highest earners at Stamford Bridge, something that must be addressed by the club’s new owners to make certain of his long-term future.

James, described as “phenomenal” by Rio Ferdinand, is the perfect player at right wing-back with his mix of defensive and offensive attributes.

It’s the logical step for Tuchel to build his team around the likes of James, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz.
