Report: Club now want to sell their £59m star quickly and Chelsea are very keen to sign him

Spanish club Sevilla are reportedly keen to complete the sale of Jules Kounde quickly this summer amid interest from Chelsea.

As Sevilla want to sell Kounde quickly, Chelsea should be hopeful of securing his signature.

According to GOAL, the La Liga side want to sell the 23-year-old as early as possible when the summer transfer window opens to give themselves plenty of time to sign a replacement.

The report states they are demanding around £59million for their highly rated centre-back.

In addition, it is understood Chelsea are very keen to land Kounde as soon as government sanctions end and they can sign players. Of course, they’ll need the takeover to be officially wrapped up first.

Sevilla want to sell Kounde quickly

It’s previously reported Kounde’s decided he wants to leave Sevilla at the end of this campaign, which is why it makes sense for his current club to push through a transfer quickly.

One small worry Blues supporters may have is around the speed of the ongoing takeover.

With Sevilla very keen to sell the France international, Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea need to be in a position where they can negotiate and sign players.

In addition, there’s reportedly rival interest from Newcastle United and Barcelona in signing Kounde.

Silva should help attract defenders

If you’re a young centre-back aspiring to reach the very top, you should jump at the chance to work alongside Thiago Silva at Chelsea next year.

37-year-old Brazilian centre-half Silva has been one of the game’s very best defenders for the last decade and he’s signed on for another year at Stamford Bridge.

Kounde, along with other centre-halves linked with Chelsea, should want to play and learn alongside Silva.
