Aston Villa are reportedly readying a move for Chelsea player Tammy Abraham.

According to The Mirror, Villa are preparing a “big-money offer” for the Blues centre-forward.

It is understood that the 23-year-old has been told he’s allowed to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Villa, who previously had Abraham on loan a couple of years ago, are willing to fork out up to £40million for his signature.

Abraham doesn’t feature in the long-term plans of Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, so his exit will be granted during this transfer window.

The £82,000-a-week striker is a super talent to come out of the Blues academy. However, it looks like he will carve out his future elsewhere.

He’s a quality forward who’s earned six caps for England, plus he’s scored 30 goals in 82 first-team games for Chelsea.

Abraham can tear it up at Villa if he joins from Chelsea

Abraham previously worked under Villa manager Dean Smith at the Midlands club, so this potential deal looks perfect.

He scored 25 goals in 37 Championship appearances during a loan at Villa in the 2018/19 season to help secure promotion at the time.

The frontman is too good to be sat on the fringes at Chelsea.

It’ll be a blow to watch someone from the Cobham system exit on a permanent basis, but it’s best for his career.

He has the natural goalscoring instincts around the box to be a quality player if he joins a Premier League rival like Villa.
