Premier League club Everton could reportedly look at Chelsea player Ross Barkley as a loan target next month.
The Telegraph claims Everton may consider trying to bring Barkley back to Goodison Park after the Toffees sold him to Chelsea in 2018.
It is understood that Everton’s hierarchy are already discussing the 28-year-old as a loan option for the January transfer window.
Apparently, any loan deal will depend on if Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel feels there enough in his squad to sanction a temporary exit.
£96,000-a-week midfielder Barkley is certainly down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, but Tuchel’s group is being thoroughly tested due to a combination of injuries and illnesses in a hectic fixture schedule.
He’s made 11 appearances across all competitions this season, including five in the Premier League.

Barkley’s days at Chelsea numbered
Barkley’s stepped in when needed this season for the Blues, but his career at the Bridge is slowly grinding to a halt.
The English attacking midfielder still shows signs of real quality when he gets minutes on the pitch, but there is no consistency at the highest level like he promised in the early stages of his career.
A return to Merseyside could be ideal for Barkley, even if he’s not the most popular figure with all Everton fans following his departure a few years back.
He needs to get back to playing regularly again and that’s not going to happen under Tuchel.
