Reports from Spain suggest Barcelona still see Marcos Alonso as their number one target for a left-back this summer.
According to Sport, the Catalan side have ruled out making a move for fellow Spaniard Sergio Reguilon as they target the Chelsea man.
It has been widely speculated this summer that the 31-year-old Blue will be on the move this summer, hoping to achieve his dream move to Xavi’s side.
This is despite the club not being linked with a replacement left-back, with Alonso’s attacking threat in particular matched by few in the league.

It had been rumoured Spurs were prepared to offer Reguilon, who they signed for £30m in 2020, as they look to raise funds following an outlandish summer.
The signing of Ivan Perisic in particular could spell the end to the Spaniard’s starting time in North London, with Antonio Conte seemingly not rating him.
However, Sport have claimed his allegiances to arch-rivals Real Madrid has left Barcelona with no intentions to sign him, instead preferring a move for Alonso.
Barcelona still target Alonso
Things have gone quiet on the left-back’s front recently, with Barcelona’s busy summer seeing them lining up more premium targets such as Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski.
It has been a similar story with fellow Blues defender Cesar Azpilicueta, who is also still a part of Chelsea’s travelling squad currently in the United States.
Alonso certainly fulfilled what was desired of him last season, featuring for the majority of the season following Ben Chilwell’s injury.

However, staying at the club would surely see his gametime diminish, with the hopes that the England international remains fit and begins to build on the promising start he’s had to his Chelsea career.
Since his signing in 2016, he has provided many crucial goals, winning most trophies available to him including the Champions League and Premier League.
While his defending may not have always been his strength, it feels like his tenure at Stamford Bridge has earned him his dream move.
