N’Golo Kante has been a crucial part of the Chelsea side ever since his move from Leicester in 2016. The Blues do not look like the same side without Kante in it, and if reports are to be believed, they may need to get used to it.
The Sun is reporting that the French midfielder is seeking a new challenge when the summer comes round, and is keen to link up with fellow Frenchman Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid. The pair reportedly share a close relationship, and Kante views Madrid as his ideal destination.
Kante is instrumental in any side he plays in and was a key component of the France national team that won the World Cup in 2018. Regarded by many as one of the best midfielders in world football, the Blues will certainly not let him go on the cheap.
Madrid will have to pay a reported £100 million for Kante’s services and may be reluctant to do so when they already have Casemiro in a similar role to the one the Chelsea man would occupy.
The 28-year-old Chelsea midfielder would bring an additional dimension to Madrid’s midfield and would certainly fit in among the iconic ‘Los Blancos’, but it would be a disaster for Lampard and his team if they were to lose Kante.
He has played a key role in FA Cup, Premier League, and Europa League triumphs during his time at Stamford Bridge and despite the wealth of midfield options at the club, none of them compare to the Frenchman. Those at Chelsea will no doubt do everything they can to keep Kante in Chelsea blue.
