Chelsea are reportedly interested in Everton’s Richarlison, who has been earmarked as a potential replacement for Eden Hazard should he be prized away by Real Madrid at the end of the season.
According to the Daily Mail, the Blues have been closely following the Everton attacker this campaign.
The report adds that the West London club considered moving for the South American last summer before his £40million move to Goodison Park.
Everton splashed out £40million (Guardian) to sign the Brazil international for this season and he’s not disappointed on Merseyside.
The 21-year-old is a versatile attacker that has shown he’s got the qualities to be used on the left wing or at centre-forward.
He’s made 27 appearances across all competitions for a mediocre Everton this season, where he’s been their star performer and chipped in with 11 goals plus two assists.
Richarlison is clearly a promising talent that can succeed in the Premier League, but he’s not the finished article yet and anybody is going to find it difficult filling Hazard’s shoes if the Belgium exits Stamford Bridge.
It’s unclear on if Maurizio Sarri’s side will make a move next summer for Richarlison, but it’s surely likely they will have to pay over the odds to get him.
