Chelsea youngster Teddy Sharman-Lowe has joined National League South side Havant and Waterlooville FC on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

The Hawks announced the arrival of the teenager yesterday, as they look to boost their bid for promotion.

Sharman-Lowe is set to experience his first spell away from the confines of Cobham.

He moved to Chelsea from Burton Albion in 2020, where he was described as ‘fantastic’ by the Brewers’ Head of Goalkeeping at the time, and has since spent the past few seasons in the academy set-up.

The 19-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues, and will have to wait until at least after the summer to take another stab at the first-team.

Before that opportunity potentially arises, he will be tasked with winning Havant and Waterlooville a place in the National League.

The non-league outfit are currently second in their respective division, yet have one of the leakier defences in the top half.

Paul Doswell has juggled with his ‘keepers this term, with the recruitment of Sharman-Lowe throwing more competition into the mix.

But despite his Chelsea background, the youthful shot stopper will have to earn his place in the team.

After all, he’s only played three times this season, the latest of which at the start of September.

He has been out injured for a large slice of that period, only recently returning to the Under-21s bench.

Now with senior football available to him, Teddy must try and take his chance.
