Brighton are reportedly interested in Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour, who’s keen to leave Stamford Bridge during this summer transfer window.
According to the Evening Standard, the 21-year-old would like to leave the Blues after being frozen out of the first-team squad.
The report names Premier League rivals Brighton as an interested buyer that are open to signing him on a permanent basis.
Gilmour’s looked the part during 22 first-team games for Chelsea, but the youngster took a significant step backwards in his development last season.
The Scotland international endured a tough campaign last year during a season-long loan with Norwich City, who were ultimately relegated from the top division. Unfortunately, he was unable to nail down a permanent spot in the Norwich XI due to some mixed form.

Brighton interested in Billy Gilmour
With Gilmour keen to leave West London, Brighton could be a great fit for him.
Previously described as “fantastic” by Frank Lampard, Gilmour is definitely a young exciting talent with bucket loads of potential.
He looks so comfortable when he puts on a Scotland shirt on the senior international stage, but he needs to try find some consistency at club level.
There’s no doubt the central midfielder needs to try play regularly this campaign, which is why a move elsewhere makes sense.

It would be a shame for Chelsea if they lose the talented youngster permanently, though.
There’s been enough in his short career so far to suggest he can shine on the biggest stage, so it’s a transfer Brighton supporters should be delighted with if interest does intensify.
The appeal of working under highly rated Brighton manager Graham Potter is something all young players should like.
