Inter Milan are reportedly interested in Chelsea attacker Olivier Giroud.
According to Calciomercato, the Italian club are monitoring the situation of Giroud at Stamford Bridge and feel he could do a job for them at San Siro.
The 33-year-old’s current deal in West London expires in the summer and he’s also frustrated over a lack of minutes this season.
He’s played just five senior games across all competitions after watching Tammy Abraham become the first-choice striker for Chelsea, but scored twice for reigning World Cup champions France during the international break.
Inter, who are managed by ex-Blues boss Antonio Conte, are looking to work their way back to becoming a super power again and are in this season’s Champions League competition.
But the Serie A giants have seen on-loan forward Alexis Sanchez pick up an injury and they are short of options in attack.
Giroud has proven his quality for Chelsea with 19 goals in 68 games for the club, which is impressive considering he’s had to make do with plenty of substitute appearances.
The left-footed striker is still one of the best target men in world football, but it looks highly unlikely he can force his way into contention ahead of Abraham and Michy Batshuayi has also raised his hand with some bright cameos of late.
Chelsea fans should hope that Giroud remains for the rest of the season as he’s capable of great moments, but the interest from Inter is alarming.
