Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri is reportedly attracting interest from Italian giants Juventus.
According to the Daily Express, the Serie A club plan to make a £25million offer to try sign the left-back in the summer transfer window.
It is understood that Juventus saw a January offer knocked back for the 25-year-old and will try again at the end of the season to sign him, as he’s top of their wanted list.
Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri worked alongside the Italy international last season when he was in charge at Stamford Bridge and now wants to form a reunion with him in Turin.
Despite the fact that most football has temporarily come to a halt due to the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), it’s worth noting that Juventus do sit top of their domestic league and were also still in the Champions League knockout rounds before that was suspended too.
The Premier League has been suspended until early April for now and every Chelsea fan will be sending their support towards Blues attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi after he tested positive for coronavirus.
This break will give players a time to reflect on the season so far and for Emerson it’s been a frustrating one that has not seen him kick on.
The full-back was signed for £17.6million (BBC) back in January 2018 and he’s shown flashes of quality during over two years at the club, but has hardly made the left-back position his own.
Teammate Marcos Alonso is far more effective as an attacking threat, plus defensively he can vulnerable and current boss Frank Lampard has rotated in that position.
Chelsea should seriously consider cashing in on Emerson if Juventus arrive with a £25million offer, as making a profit on him looks like great business.
