Report: Lampard and Rodgers among those to express interest in 19-year-old Chelsea loanee

Chelsea have reportedly received numerous amounts of interest in their youngster Levi Colwill.

The 19-year-old, who’s impressing out on loan with Championship side Huddesfield Town this season, has a wide range of suitors.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Frank Lampard’s Everton and Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City have both expressed interest in the Blues-owned teenager. Premier League rivals Southampton are keen, too.

It is explained Huddersfield have voiced their interest in re-signing him when his loan expires. Also, runaway Championship leaders Fulham are potential suitors that have signalled their desire to sign him in the summer.

Di Marzio adds Chelsea’s first-team manager Thomas Tuchel intends to see the English defender in pre-season before making a decision on his future.

Colwill’s been a superb player this season for a Huddersfield side sat third in their league, so a promotion is still very much on the cards.

The ball-playing centre-back is a left-footer that thrives on the left of a back three, which is a system Tuchel prefers at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea must keep Colwill

In fairness, Everton and Leicester are two attractive clubs for young players looking to really prove themselves in the Premier League.

Everton, who need to fight off relegation first this season, have ex-Chelsea boss Frank Lampard at their helm. He’s someone that wants to play eye-catching football and will be an icon for so many youngster to come through the academy at Cobham.

Meanwhile, Leicester are an extremely well run club that have a brilliant core of young players in their group.

Hopefully, Chelsea can convince Colwill he can have a long-term future at the Bridge because he appears to have all the potential in the world. If not, he’d make a great addition for some Premier League rivals.
