Report: Leicester make enquiry for Chelsea player who played 37 games last season
Leicester City have reportedly made contact over a possible swoop for Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi.
According to Football London, Premier League rivals Leicester have made an enquiry for the Blues attacker during the last 24 hours.
It is understood that Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes want to sign a winger before the summer transfer window shuts tomorrow, so Hudson-Odoi is emerging as one of their targets.
The report explains that Borussia Dortmund have approached Chelsea about the 20-year-old over a loan deal, but the club don’t want to sanction any kind of exit until a replacement is signed.
Hudson-Odoi played 37 games across all competitions last season, scoring five goals and setting up five assists.
However, he’s been an unused substitute in the opening three games of the new Premier League campaign.
With so much competition in the forward positions, it looks like the winger is currently providing cover at right wing-back for Tuchel.
Hudson-Odoi permanent sale would upset a lot of Chelsea fans
If Hudson-Odoi leaves on loan, most at Chelsea will understand he’s going to develop his game much more with regular football. Dortmund, in particular, could be great to help him.
There could be an uproar from some fans, though, if the English trickster leaves Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis.
He’s a wonderkid from the academy that’s been talked up as the next big things for several years and he’s already played 99 first-team games for the club.
Tuchel called him as “fantastic” earlier in the year and the manager needs to ensure he’s not sold.
