Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly sent a request to Real Madrid’s hierarchy to sign Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea.

According to Marca, Ancelotti is personally pushing for the signature of the German international, one that could be acquired at the end of the season.

Repeating the same sentences about Rudiger

As is common knowledge by now, Rudiger’s contract expires in June.

Unless an agreement can be reached before then, the 29-year-old will be allowed to walk away from Stamford Bridge as a free agent.

Renewing the centre-back’s deal was difficult even before Roman Abramovich put the club up for sale.

Whilst Rudiger is apparently willing to wait until the new owners are installed before making a final decision on his future, Chelsea cannot ignore the fact he could be leaving in a few months.

Pretty much all of Europe’s elite entities are preparing to pounce on Thomas Tuchel’s chief protector, permitted he is released into the market.

Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have all been sniffing around.

However, Real Madrid appear to be plugging away the hardest.

They have witnessed Rudiger’s strength first-hand in the past two seasons, following successive Champions League knock-out stage meetings with Chelsea.

Who wouldn’t be impressed by the performances of the player formerly cut from Roma’s cloth?

Ancelotti wants Antonio

Ancelotti also watched the defender up close and personally several times whilst in charge of Everton.

Therefore, the Italian’s apparent desire to raid Tuchel’s number two should come as little surprise.

But hopefully for the Blues’ sake, there will be some resistance against their former coach.

Whoever takes over from Abramovich must have Rudiger’s renewal high on the agenda.

After all, he is a major reason behind the team’s success in the past 15 months.

Without him, Chelsea may never have won the Champions League, nor reached three domestic cup finals.

Antonio belongs to the Blues, don’t you forget that, Carlo.
