Report: Nottingham Forest now want to sign 22-year-old Chelsea player, after his asking price cut to £10m

Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea this summer, according to reports.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, who’s spent the 2022/23 season out on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, is due back at Stamford Bridge this summer for pre-season.

However, there’s now speculation that he could be on the move in the upcoming transfer window.

The Daily Mail has named Premier League side Nottingham Forest as one potential suitor for Hudson-Odoi.

They add that Chelsea will hope to make around £10million from his sale, too.

It’s an extraordinary piece from the Mail that includes details on up to 15 Chelsea players that could be heading for the exit doors this summer, which seems like a crazy number on the face of it. However, further examination does highlight that this oversized squad needs trimming drastically.

Hudson-Odoi’s asking price of £10million is a huge price cut when you compare it to the fees Bayern Munich were willing to pay for him a few years ago.

The Guardian said back in 2019 that Chelsea turned down a £35million offer from German club Bayern for Hudson-Odoi.

90min claimed last month that Hudson-Odoi maintains belief that he can get back in the Chelsea squad and wants to hold talks this summer with the new manager, which has now been confirmed as Mauricio Pochettino.

After a fairly disappointing year on loan with Leverkusen, Hudson-Odoi may face a long road to get back in favour at Stamford Bridge.

We definitely understand plans to sell him this summer, but £10million could represent a fantastic deal for a buying club.
