Newcastle United have launched a bid to sign AC Milan star Sandro Tonali, who’s been linked as a transfer target for Chelsea
That is according to The Athletic.
They report that Premier League side Newcastle have submitted an offer to Milan in the region of €50million (£43million) for Sandro Tonali.
This comes after The Athletic claimed last week that Chelsea are already monitoring the 23-year-old midfielder

90min claimed last month that Chelsea scouts were in attendance for a Milan game to watch Tonali, along with teammate Rafael Leao.
Tonali is an all-action defensive midfielder with a growing reputation, which is why we’re not too surprised to hear clubs from England circling for the Serie A sensation.
The deep-lying playmaker racked up 10 assists across all competitions last season for Milan.
He’s loved at the San Siro for his aggression, tackling and work rate off the ball as well.

Described as an “incredible player” by former Italy international Federico Balzaretti a few years ago, Tonali ticks so many boxes when searching for a quality central midfielder.
We like the idea of him playing in Chelsea colours next season, but it sounds like Newcastle are at the front of the queue in the transfer pursuit this summer.
