Crystal Palace have reportedly lined up a potential replacement for Wilfried Zaha in case they sell him to interested buyers Chelsea.

According to the Daily Mail, Palace have set their sights on Watford’s £25million-rated attacker Ismaila Sarr.

The report explains 24-year-old Sarr will be a priority target for Palace should Zaha leave Selhurst Park.

Chelsea have reportedly made initial contact in the last few days to try sign 29-year-old Zaha, whose sale is not completely ruled out yet.

The Ivory Coast winger has been a talisman in the Palace line-up for so many years, with many neutrals desperate for him to move away and test himself at the highest level.

It’s quite disappointing that a player with his individual quality has never played a European fixture in his career.

Palace lined up Zaha replacement

This latest update may give some optimistic Chelsea fans some extra hope that Zaha could make a dramatic move across London in the final days of the transfer window.

For certain, Watford speedster Sarr definitely looks like a suitable like-for-like replacement for Zaha.

However, it’s a major risk for Palace to allow Zaha to leave when he’s been so instrumental for a long period. In fact, it looks like he’s even getting better and reaching his prime years under current Eagles manager Patrick Vieira.

Described as “very fast” by Chelsea’s Reece James, Zaha has done more than enough to earn an elite move. Will he want to leave his beloved Palace, though?

With the current state of the Chelsea attack, it’s easy to picture the Palace man improving it with his individual qualities.

Raheem Sterling has immediately bolstered the Blues forward line with his pace and movement, something that Zaha has in abundance as well.
