Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger is now reportedly on the transfer radar of Premier League rivals Manchester United.

According to The Mirror, Man United are setting their sights on trying to sign Rudiger when he becomes a free agent this summer.

It is understood Man United’s interim boss Ralf Rangnick, who’s set to move into a consultancy role at Old Trafford, is a “big fan” of Chelsea’s centre-back

In addition, the Rudiger links cast further doubt over the future of 28-year-old Harry Maguire. The £80million Red Devils captain is under real scrutiny due to the level of his defensive performances, with his side really struggling at the back this season.

With Rudiger’s contract due to expire at the end of the season, it’s no surprise to hear someone like Man United are monitoring him.

Thankfully, there has been some positive reports regarding his future at Stamford Bridge.

Sunday World claims Chelsea are close to meeting the demands of 28-year-old centre-half Rudiger, albeit teammate Andreas Christensen could be heading for exit doors.

Rudiger in different league to Maguire at present

Maguire’s Man United form has completely fallen off a cliff, and it feels like he’s under immense pressure from his club’s supporters. For England supporters, they’ll pray he can get out of a massive slump.

In contrast, Rudiger is a fan favourite playing some of his best ever football.

He belongs in the top tier of centre-backs currently playing in Europe, along with veteran teammate Thiago Silva.

The pain of watching Rudiger line up for Man United is unimaginable.
