Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele would like to join Chelsea and potentially work under Thomas Tuchel once again, but the Blues are not interested in a January deal, according to French outlet RMC Sport.

The report claims Dembele would be “in favour” of joining Chelsea because of his desire to play in the Premier League, the club’s location in London, and a potential reunion with Tuchel.

The 24-year-old would be available on a free transfer at the end of the season, so it is easy why to see why Chelsea are reportedly in no rush to strike a deal.

Aside from financial reasons, Chelsea have also had plenty of, perhaps even too many, attacking options at their disposal.

The Telegraph’s Matt Law recently suggested that Tuchel is having a hard time keeping several of these players; including Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner, and Hakim Ziyech, happy over their game time.

Chelsea will likely face more competition to land the France international on a free transfer, however.

The report mentioned Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United among other possible destinations for the winger.

But while Chelsea do not desperately need another attacker for the remainder of the season, the left-back position is a completely different story.

Ben Chilwell’s long-term absences leaves Chelsea with Marcos Alonso as the only natural left wing-back and perhaps academy star Lewis Hall as a backup option.

Malang Sarr could provide cover as a left-back in a four-man defence, but he has mostly played as a left-sided centre-back under Tuchel.
