Report: PSG step up interest and make offer to sign £70m defender linked with Chelsea
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly launched a bid to try sign Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, who’s been linked as a target for Chelsea this summer.
According to 90min, PSG have stepped up interest in Skriniar by making an offer.
It is understood PSG’s sporting director Luis Campos is trying to secure a deal for Inter Milan’s talented 27-year-old centre-back.
The Slovakia international, who’s played 215 games for Inter, is an experienced centre-half that should be coming to the peak of his powers.
Chelsea target Skriniar
PSG’s fresh attempt to sign Skriniar should alert those at Chelsea.
It’s been reported during this summer window that the Blues could end up focusing on trying to sign Inter’s popular defender. It could take as much as £70million to prize him away from the San Siro, though.
Skriniar was an ever-present in the Inter XI last season with 48 appearances across all competitions, which included scoring four goals.
On paper, he’s a strong and quick centre-back that could be a great answer to Chelsea’s problems in defence. Thomas Tuchel’s squad looks in desperate need of some top-class recruitment in the heart of defence at Stamford Bridge next season.
However, it looks like French champions PSG are pressing ahead to sign Skriniar.
With Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen both no longer Chelsea players, it would be great to sign a replacement that’s ready to go straight into the starting line-up. For certain, Skriniar has a big tick against his name in that aspect.
